What do the Governors do?
School governance is the most important volunteering role in education and, as unpaid voluntary public servants, our governors are committed to serving the best interests of the Federation.
They set strategies for the Federation, monitor its achievements, help to sustain its identity and provide a link with the local community. As an effective governing body they are a source of enormous strength to the school and the Headteacher. They play a vital role in promoting high standards of educational achievement, share a common vision that the children in our community should receive the best possible education in all areas of their development and ensure the continued development of the school for current and future pupils.
The governing body is made up of: school staff, parents of pupils and other members of the community from all walks of life. Please click on the link to see who are school governors are.
If you would like to make a difference to children's lives by helping them to realise their aspirations and expectations, please volunteer to join us and become a School Governor whenever a vacancy becomes available.
Formal meetings are held once a term to consider and act on a variety of items affecting the Federation and to receive reports from the Headteacher concerning conduct, curriculum, etc. Minutes of the issues discussed and decisions taken during our meetings are available in the schools. Please ask at the school office if you are interested in seeing them.
You can contact members of the governing body via the school office. Alternatively, parent governors are often found around school, particularly at the start or end of the school day.
